Walking in the woods that surround my studio on the first day of spring what strikes me is how winter in the Crete is at its most intense at this moment. This is because the oak trees finally begin to lose their dry leaves, and – for only a few weeks – it will be possible to see into the deep crevasses carved by erosion and lined with thick vegetation where wild boar and roe have suddenly less privacy.
This painting belongs to the season; it can be seen until June in the Spazio Alberto Moretti – Schema Polis in Carmignano (Prato) as part of an exhibition called Schema Mater.
